USHSR Congratulates Sean Duffy on USDOT Nomination
USHSR Co-Chair and former U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood expressed support for President-elect Trump’s nomination of former Congressman Sean Duffy as the next Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Responding in a statement to Duffy’s nomination, LaHood said:
“U.S. High Speed Rail congratulates Sean Duffy on his nomination as U.S. Secretary of Transportation. We look forward to working with him to advance the progress of high-speed rail projects across the country.”
LaHood went on to point out that Duffy can expect strong support from U.S. voters for bullet train projects across the country.
“A clear majority of voters support the construction of a nationwide high-speed rail network, as more than two dozen nations have done, with China now leading the way. The American people want and deserve a high-speed rail network that reduces gridlock, creates jobs, and helps America lead the world in the 21st century.”
